Flightaware.com lets you look at every flight that has filed a flight plan anywhere in the country.
You can put in your local airport and see all planes live on the radar coming or going to that airport as well as any flying over the area.
One feature is a graphic that shows how many planes are in the air during a typical day.
The site also lists the altitude and speed of the planes.
Clicking on an individual flight will show the departure and arrival times as well as the type of aircraft.
