Oprah's Book Club National Webcast - "A New Earth"

Leave it to Oprah and her team of genius marketers to grab onto new media and leverage her brand and extend it even further.

I signed up to be part of a webinar about A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose (Oprah's Book Club, Selection 61). We are certainly going to listen to the webinar and are in the process of trying to round up a local group to listen to it together.

The program is a live webinar that begins Monday, March 3, at 9pm EST and every Monday night for the next 10 weeks.

One of the more fascinating Network Centric elements of this offering is that the website allows you to either find or start a reading group in your area (Click Here). The website provides the catalyst for people to take to physically come together at the grassroots / community level, an amazingly noble externality of this program.

The Power of the Internet coupled with a globally recongnizable brand is astounding. I am glad to see that Oprah is really tapping into The Network Centric Revolution™. I strongly believe that this is only the tip of the iceberg of the Internet innovations from Oprah and her team at Harpo Productions.

A Town Hall Meeting for Barack Obama, the Likes of Which Have Never Been Seen Before

Imagine if Oprah decides to use this brand to create a town hall meeting to support Barack Obama's Presidential Campaign, the likes of a town hall meeting that we have never seen before.

If Oprah did this, it would have a historical impact on par with the historical watershed debates between John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon (Video) in the 1960 Presdiential Election.

Knowing Oprah she may have already considered using this medium as a campaign tool, but if she has not she should.
